Grant Fire Fully Contained, Hundreds Of Acres Burned

The cause of the wind-driven fires is under investigation.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Seven fires burning in eastern Alameda and Contra Costa counties near the Altamont Pass are 100 percent contained, according to Cal Fire. The Grant Fire, which started at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, burned 484 acres and reached full containment Thursday evening, Cal Fire said.

Fire officials said the blazes destroyed a mobile home, one outbuilding, a trailer and three vehicles. No injuries were reported. The cause of the wind-driven fires is under investigation.
