East Bay Teacher Accused Of Lewd Acts With Child

Bail has been set for $1.2 million for the man, who advertised his services on babysitting sites and Facebook groups.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Walnut Creek man who taught at Bentley School in Lafayette has been arrested on two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Child and three counts of Indecent Exposure. Bail has been set at $1.2 million for 27 year-old Brandon Genest. He was arrested on Monday.

According to Walnut Creek Police, the alleged happened when Genest was babysitting. "The arrest occurred after an investigation into allegations that Genest had the victims inappropriately touch him while he was employed as their babysitter," police said in a written statement. "During the investigation it was discovered that Genest has worked as a babysitter for numerous families in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties."

In fact, Genest has advertised his services as a babysitter on the following websites: Sittercity, Urban Sitter, Care, and several Facebook groups.
