I-88 Road Rage Murder Suspect Apprehended

Man charged with first degree murder after allegedly shooting a trucker during a road rage incident.

OAK BROOK, IL — Illinois State Police have arrested the suspect in a fatal shooting on I-88 near Oak Brook Friday. Police said the killing was a result of road rage. Anthony Tillmon 34, of Lansing is charged with shooting Eduardo Munoz, 43, of Florida, while Munoz was driving a semi truck on I-88.

The suspect fled the scene and Munoz was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he later died.

A thorough investigation led police to identify the suspect as Tillmon. Police said the I-88 shooting was likely tied to road rage and the the suspect and victim did not know each other.

Tillman faces one count of first degree murder, a class X felony that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 6 to 30 years. He is currently being held at DuPage County Jail.
