Weekend Weather for Chicago Area: Rain, Temps Near 60, Patchy Frost at Night

After a sunny and warm, but windy, Friday, the Chicago area can expect A chance for some rain showers overnight. It's looking like the rest of the weekend -- and early next week -- should be free of any rain or storms with temps hovering around 60 degrees for portions of the Chicago area on Saturday and Sunday.

Partly cloudy skies and high temps between 49 and 59 degrees are in the forecast for Saturday. On Saturday, and through the middle of next week, those along Lake Michigan should expect temps 10 degrees cooler than those living inland, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday, high temps will reach between 48 and 60 degrees and the Chicago area should expect sunny skies. Temps will drop to near-freezing for some in the Chicago area on Saturday and Sunday night and patchy frost is possible.

• REST OF FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy especially near the lake through early afternoon then clearing. Breezy. Highs in the mid 50s inland...but only in the upper 40s near the lake. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
• FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Chance of showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Lows in the lower 40s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
• SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s inland...but only around 50 near the lake. North winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
• SATURDAY NIGHT: Clear. Lows in the upper 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
• SUNDAY: Sunny. Highs in the mid 50s inland...but only around 50 near the lake. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
• SUNDAY NIGHT: Clear. Patchy frost after midnight. Lows in the upper 30s.
• MONDAY: Sunny. Highs in the upper 50s inland...but only in the lower 50s near the lake.
