Children in Need to Get Free Dental Care Friday

There's still time to register your child for the Give Kids a Smile event on Friday.

Advanced Detal Care of Bradenton is partnering with the American Dental Association’s Give Kids A Smile Program to provide free services for children in need.

Friday's Give Kids A Smiles event is designed to provide free, desperately-needed dental services to local qualifying children from underserved families. The free dental services will be offered Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Advanced Dental Care of Bradenton, 109 44th Ave. E. Suite 200.

Last year, more than 44,800 dental team members nationwide participated in Give Kids A Smile. According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and prevention, nearly one in four children, ages 2- to 11-years-old have untreated cavities in their baby teeth,. Many children enrolled in Medicaid receive no dental services throughout the year.

Give Kids A Smile is held annually to provide free dental services to local, qualifying children from underserved families and to raise awareness of the epidemic of untreated dental disease and the need to build local public and private partnerships to increase access to oral health care to solve this crisis.
