Hazmat Response At Orinda County Club

Chemicals were accidentally mixed together creating a strong odor.

LAMORINDA, CA — Are you smelling a chemical odor that resembles bleach? Contra Costa County reports a hazmat situation at Orinda Country Club. The Moraga-Orinda Fire Department responded around 4:45 this morning according to PulsePoint app. Both MOFD and County Hazmat crews are at the scene.

The problem involves chemicals that were accidentally mixed together.

Orinda Police report that vehicle traffic is not impacted, but pedestrian traffic is limited. No evacuation is necessary, according tot he police department.

Contra Costa County Health Services is responding to the scene. At this point, a health advisory has not been issued.
