Moraga Police Warn Of Mail Thefts
They urge residents to sign up for Informed Delivery through the US Postal Service.
LAMORINDA, CA — Moraga Police are urging local residents to replace their regular mailboxes with locking mailboxes, after stolen mail was turned in last week. The mail was found discarded in the street, and had been stolen from several homes in the Corliss Drive neighborhood.
Police believe the mail was stolen Thursday night. Until you are able to replace your mailbox with the locking variety, police encourage you to pick up your mail each day so that it's not available to thieves at night.
Another tip from Moraga Police is to sign up for Informed Delivery through the US Postal Service. The free service emails a scanned photo of each piece of mail scheduled to be delivered that day. "This is a great way to know what to expect in your delivery and make the proper notifications if mail is not received," police say.
