Bollinger Valley Project Up For Council Vote Wednesday
The proposed 126-home tract has drawn concern.
LAMORINDA, CA —The Moraga Town Council may decide Wednesday whether a 126-home tract, or a smaller version of it, will be built in the hills of this town's east side.
The proposed Bollinger Valley Project, as applicants Joan Bruzzone and the Bruzzone family want to build it, is a 126-single-family-home project east of St. Marys Road and just south of the Moraga-Lafayette border. Almost 15 years in the planning in one form or another, the new housing tract -- just north of the Saint Mary's College campus -- would cover 186 acres, encompassing two separate parcels.
On Oct. 18, the Moraga Planning Commission recommended the Town Council deny the applications of the Bollinger Valley Project's applicants, Joan Bruzzone and the Bruzzone family, and to not certify the project's environmental impact report.

The Planning Commission has also recommended the Town Council consider "Alternative 3," a much smaller (37 lots on 18.5 acres) project.
The Bollinger Valley Project has also drawn the attention of officials from neighboring Lafayette and Orinda. Lafayette officials have concerns about some of the new houses being visible from lower elevations and that the Environmental Impact Report doesn't sufficiently evaluate the
project's ability to meet current storm water regulations.

Officials from both Lafayette and Orinda have concerns about traffic generated by 126 new houses.
Wednesday's Moraga Town Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School Auditorium, 1010 Camino Pablo.
