3rd Annual Women's March Contra Costa Planned: Mark Your Calendar

Community members will participate in the rally and march this month.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The third annual women's march will be held in Walnut Creek on Jan. 19. It will include a rally with speakers followed by a march through downtown streets. Confirmed speakers include Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, San Ramon City Councilwoman Sabina Zafar, and Lauren Babb of Planned Parenthood Northern California.

"Women’s March Contra Costa is a local movement dedicated to empowering, educating and
mobilizing citizens of Contra Costa County to stand together in support of civil liberties and
protecting our planet," organizers said in a press release. "As women, we stand in solidarity as the unifying force that binds families together and unites communities. Our focus is to support, educate and organize events providing meaningful connections, and to speak out against intolerance."

More than a dozen organizations are taking part, but individuals are also welcome. Thousands of people have participated in previous Walnut Creek marches.
