Cold And Rain Coming To Phoenix: National Weather Service

Temperatures are looking to be cooler all of this week with highs in the 70s, dropping into the 60s Friday and Saturday.

PHOENIX, AZ β€” Cooler weather is finally coming to Phoenix, after a hotter-than-normal November and a warm start to December, according to the National Weather Service.

The Phoenix area has a 40 percent chance of showers during the day Thursday and an 80 percent chance Thursday night, according to the weather service forecast. There will be a continuing 40 percent chance of rain into Friday.

What the National Weather Service is describing as a "strong storm system" is bringing a cold front with it that is expected to drop temperatures significantly later this week.

After highs in the 80s throughout November and into December, this week should be a welcome change of pace for Phoenicians who like cooler weather. Highs this week are expected to be 75 on Tuesday, 72 on Wednesday, 71 on Thursday and a chilly 63 degrees on Friday.

The overnight low Friday into Saturday morning in Phoenix is forecast at 40 degrees, with an expected Saturday high of 64.
