19-Year-Old ASU Student Dies At Campus Fitness Center Sunday Night

TEMPE, AZ β€”An Arizona State student died Sunday evening at the on-campus fitness center after being found unresponsive in the pool area, according to multiple news reports.

Andrew Bryan, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after ASU Police Department officers and the Tempe Fire and Medical Rescue department responded to a report of an injured person at around 7:20 p.m., campus police said.

Authorities said they arrived at the location, found the unresponsive victim and administered CPR, which had been started by somebody at the fitness center.

Police said they believe Bryan had been swimming laps prior to their arrival and that it is unclear what led up to the incident. However, authorities said that no foul play is suspected.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of Bryan's death, according to police.
