Help Us Find Man Involved In Police Shooting: Chandler Police

It's unclear if the man was injured when police fired at him after he pulled out a gun Wednesday, according to police.

CHANDLER, AZ β€” The Chandler Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying and locating a man suspected of being involved in a police shooting Wednesday, police said.

Police don't know whether the man was injured in the shooting, police said.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday the man is suspected of going into a business at 401 N. Arizona Ave., and confronting a customer, police said. The man showed the customer a gun in his waistband, and then left the building, according to police.

When police confronted him, he said he didn't have a gun and then ran from the officers, police said. After that, he's accused of pulling out the gun and turning toward the officers, according to police. That's when the officers shot at him, police said. The man then ran south and east through an alley. Police could not find him during a search.

The Chandler Police Department is asking the public for any help they can provide locating and identifying the man. They're also looking for witnesses or residential video surveillance footage that might contain footage of the man.
