Carranza committed sex acts on the victim and the victim committed sex acts on Carranza, the indictment said.

The incident occurred in Round Lake Beach.

The most serious charge, predatory criminal sexual assault, is a Class X felony and carries a prison sentence of 6-60 years if convicted.

A motion filed by Carranza’s public defender, Jillian Kassel, asked the court to order an examination of Carranza’s fitness to stand trial.

Carranza refused to appear in court and refused to speak with the public defender’s office about her case, the motion said.

Carranza “exhibited confusion and remained silent” when asked questions by her attorney.

A judge found a bonafide doubt as to the woman’s fitness to stand trial and ordered a doctor to conduct a fitness evaluation.

Carranza has been held in the Lake County Jail since June 30 on a $200,000 bond.

She would need to post $20,000 cash in order to be released.
