Coroner IDs Man Killed In Route 41 Crash

The collision happened Monday night when a car collided head-on with a semi truck on Route 41 in Wadsworth.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 26-year-old Chicago man who was killed in a crash on Route 41 in Wadsworth has been identified as Joshua Brumfield.

The collision happened at about 11:30 p.m. Monday when a Chevrolet Malibu traveling south in the northbound lanes of traffic on Route 41 north of Wadsworth Road collided head on with a 2019 Mack truck, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Brumfield was the driver and sole occupant in the Malibu.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary autopsy results show Brumfield died from multiple traumatic injuries as a result of a crash, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The driver of the Mack truck, a 48-year-old Grayslake man, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with minor injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
