Stormy Thursday, Dangerous Swim Conditions On Friday At IL Beaches

ILLINOIS — After a round of thunderstorms and rain early Thursday, another round of scattered showers and storms will move through the Chicago area on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The high for the day on Thursday is 83 degrees, and after rain ends Thursday night, Friday will bring dry and slightly cooler weather with a high of 77, according to the weather service.

Breezy northeast winds will also create dangerous swimming conditions at Illinois beaches all day on Friday. 3 to 6 foot high waves are possible, the weather service said.

The weekend will start to warm again after Friday, with highs of 83 on Saturday and 86 on Sunday.
